Though this article is suggestive of developing an independent perspective, irrespective of a particular school of thought, it gets submerged with the Marxist ideals. Gender and identity formation are also the issues, in my understanding, which may explain the causes of poor economic realities and equalities. Being sensitive to these issued is implicitly an indicator of the concerns of subaltern historian's concern for poor and ignored communities. The socio- economic background of the people, who are the objects of the subaltern studies, does reflect complex issues which are beyond 'indigenous culture'.
More over, using indigenous culture as tool also needs socio- cultural reformulations in specific contexts. Therefore, one should try to read subaltern writings more sympathetically.
